Moldovan authorities said they carried out 250 raids and detained dozens on Monday as part of an investigation into an alleged Russia-backed plan to incite “mass riots” and destabilize the country around a critical parliamentary election.

The raids targeted more than 100 people and took place in multiple localities across the country, police said. Seventy-four people were detained for up to 72 hours, said Victor Furtuna, Moldova’s chief prosecutor from the Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases.

Moldovans will vote to choose a new 101-seat legislature on Sunday, in an election many view as a choice between Moldova’s continued path toward European Union membership or closer ties with Russia.

Moldova’s police said that the unrest plot was “coordinated from the Russian Federation, through criminal elements.”

A new production facility in the southwestern French village of Lacq is expected to supply 15 per cent of the global market for heavy rare earths by the end of 2026.

The US$245 million plant is being developed by French company Caremag, a subsidiary of rare earth specialist Carester.

Once operational, it will be Europe’s first large-scale rare earth separation facility, combining recycling of end-of-life equipment with imported mined concentrates.

The key accuser in former French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s alleged illegal campaign financing from the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi died on Tuesday, just two days before the verdict, his lawyer said. Ziad Takieddine claimed that he helped deliver up to five million euros from Gaddafi to the ex-head of state, before abruptly retracting his testimony in 2020.

VINSKI, Estonia (AP) — Estonia is extending a fence along its border with Russia and building anti-tank ditches and bunkers in preparation for a potential conflict with Moscow. But those defenses won’t guard against the threat it and its NATO allies face from Russian drones and electronic warfare.

Here is the technical report: Nimbus Manticore Deploys New Malware Targeting Europe

A group of Iranian hackers known as Nimbus Manticore is expanding its operations, now focusing on major companies across Europe. According to new research from the cybersecurity firm Check Point Research (CPR), the group is targeting businesses in the defence, telecommunications, and aerospace sectors to steal sensitive information.

Nimbus Manticore, also called UNC1549 or Smoke Sandstorm, has been actively tracked since early 2025 and previously ran the Iranian Dream Job campaign. These campaigns align with the strategic intelligence-gathering goals of Iran’s IRGC, especially during times of heightened geopolitical tension.

Felt like they were on the rage as I was finishing high school, but now they're nowhere to be seen.

I'd wager most of you haven't even heard the term 'straight-edge' in months, or possibly years.

I actually cycled this route a few weeks ago, I can see why people are upset. There has been a large number of vehicles come through that have absolutely chewed up the ground, in places there are multiple pathways formed as one has become impassable.

Maintaining vehicle and cycling access, as well as marking out where the road actually is, is the best outcome in my view.

Been noticing a trend globally, and it is particularly observable on mainstream media (Xitter, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube) of a rise in far right reactionary rhetoric + unironic Nazism alongside AmeriKKKan MAGA shit too.

I really want understand this type of behavior and the origin/source and why it occurs, and also what the future holds and what to do about it. Frankly, I am feeling quite hopeless for the world right now. Granted, I always felt this way for a while, but things do look particularly shit with all the Charlie Kirk and Trump fiasco going on
