Found on the ground in the forest near Sumaco National Park, Ecuador. Probably fell unripe, as it was hard and there were no other fruits like this on the ground in the area. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

EDIT: I have inquired about the inside of the fruit, and even as the outside was still green and hard, the inside was reportedly brown and mushy with no distinguishing features.

EDIT again: Upon further inquiry, I have found out that the inside looked more like solid segments than the goop of a passionfruit.

It looks like a green passion fruit to me (maracujá in Portuguese and I believe maracuya in Spanish). If you open(ed) it you should be able to confirm with fairly high confidence, although I've never seen the inside of a green one.

See this photo for comparison with yours: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/green-passion-fruit-parcha-o-verde-1540775528 And one of the inside of a ripe one: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/passion-fruit-cut-half-isolated-on-2588726317

Captcha-walled. Can you upload the image of the inside of the green passionfruit in a reply to this comment?

I agree with the poster above you, the leaf stem in particular looks super passion-fruity to me (source: i have a regular passionfruit vine), and not rhe image from above link but here is something i searched up

Ah, sorry, I didn't realize. I would, although @JackFrostNCola@aussie.zone already posted one. I hadn't found a picture of the inside of a green one yet anyway. Only of the ripe ones.
