I should sell my machine for more than I paid, I don't mind dropping back to AM3+/DDR3 if it means I can spec a replacement later and make some extra money on top of it.

AM3+ is straight ass though. There is a reason why most people who had a high end rig 10 years ago ran intel cpus.

I have an old blade server that I got from work many years ago. I never set it up but just opened it up to see what's in it and discovered it had DDR2 memory. Interested?
