Most of the "cult classic" games were created by libertarians - that was just the political scene of the 90s. Socialism at the time was believed to be a dead ideology of the "past". So Poison Ivy style environmentalism (see why for example DnD druids are neutral/good despite wanting to pol pot urban society) / feminism and libertarianism were the only other "left" leaning position widespread
