I feel like I remember the tankies saying something about there being no potential issues with using TikTok. Has there been any reaction in the triad?
The issues with tiktok started in 2020 when Trump threatened to ban it after they organized RSVPing one of his rallies and he performed in a mostly empty stadium.
Tiktok responded by hiring state department ghouls to oversee moderation, then 2020 popped off and they clamped down even harder.
There were never issues with the chinese government. The issue was always with the US government.
the issues with tiktok started when it was first announced. It's sad that it got "heroified" through the gaza events
Which issues are you talking about? That it collects as much data as Insta and Snapchat?
But you don't hear shit about those two, because 1. They're owned by US companies who handed user data to the US from day 1 and 2. They were never used for organizing against the regime.
The issues I'm talking about is that the US was influencing the algorithm.
well, yes most people dont know that about instagram and snapchat, but I do, main reasons why I was refusing both since years. I think tiktok is worse. I still hear people admitting it is much more addictive than facebook's platforms. that they are surprised how quickly it learns your "interests". and part of the app's functionality in code when it is opened? it is changing how it works when it detects a debugger? it behaved like malware from the beginning. it was spreading surprisingly fast too, I can't believe it was organic growth. at some point it was preinstalled bloatware on all new phones, besidss the ranks of facebook and twitter, maybe still is.
Tiktok was THE platform for pro-gaza content and solidarity. Leaks from Congress proves this. It's a shell of what it once was now that the US oligarchs are in control of it and have turned it into their right wing spyware platform.

The only person I know who ever denied the Armenian genocide was Cenk Uygur, which he later walked back.
An Bosnian genocide is much more controversial. That the Srebrenica massacre constituted genocide had been refuted by a number of scholars, including Noam Chomsky, Edward Herman, and Michael Parenti.
