Has anyone pulled it yet? Is it stable? I use the (internet) scream test, if no drama follows the release for a few days, then i proceed with the pull.

v2.5.2 is planned to release today, they pulled v2.5.0 android apk since there was a bug with it. So I'd suggest waiting for the release today at least.

It's out. Autoupdated off the market. No issues so far for me.

Yeah I updated too don't auto update but I have renovate monitor updates and submit PRs for it. All running good here.

Looks like mine auto updated already and it seems fine

Just checked, there is an issue with the companion app on playstore, they have delayed the android app update due to an issue, so wait until play store shows the update and then do both (server and mobile app)

I really want to use Immich but I've installed it 3 different times and each time an upgrade completely breaks my installation and I spend hours troubleshooting. And yes, I read the patch notes and do whatever changes they mark in bold red as a warning.

It's amazing when it works and they're doing a great job at adding features, but my God does it break if you just look at it wrong.

How long ago did you do it?

Now Immich is considered stable, so it shouldn't have breaking minor updates anymore.

Plus, if you use the docker installation you pretty much don't have to worry about anything.

Going back through my github issues/comments, it was around May 2024 with the v1.105.0 release was my last attempt.

I'm happy to hear it is stable now, I'll probably give it a shot again here soon. Again, I loved the app and I was hosting it for friends/family to share photos of my kids, so it helped immensely with everyone collaborating with uploads(though mobile uploads for individual photos wasn't available at that time, had to direct people to use the website...).

To be fair I don't think I used the docker installation back then, so I'll probably make a stack for it this time around.

With their 2.0 version they announced it as stable release. https://github.com/immich-app/immich/discussions/22546

I never used immich before then, but all updates I've done since starting (with docker) has worked flawlessly.

I had never used Docker before, but it's pretty easy. Give it a try again!

In my case, the only thing that ever broke in my home server was homarr lol

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

Never had it break my setup.
And I have ACLs running on the filesystem on top of it.

I updated my image yesterday and haven't run into any issues. I also haven't tried the web backups yet. Soooo 🤷
