And it doesn't matter who the king is; it just happens to be Trump now. They gave up Sensor Vault data to help convict Trump's January 6 insurrectionists during the previous administration, and they'll do whatever the next regime wants too.
How is that comparable? One was a crime, the other is an innocent person exercising their constitutional rights.
Agreed, this can be read both ways. It just goes to show that companies don't give a shit about right or wrong, legal or illegal, and they'll willingly collaborate with democratic institutions and oppressive regimes alike as long as it suits their bottom line.
Companies have always complied with legal warrants. They can challenge them, but they literally cannot refuse. Thats why companies need to actually collect less data on their customers, or protect it with e2e encryption.
