A bit of a dishonest question, but wouldn't that argument lead to minors being able to buy alcohol "for their parents"? We are now shifting the responsibility to the stores, not the parents.
I have my reasons to think it's not a fair comparison, but I'll like to hear other's.

We've seen parents fail over and over again. Some parents definitely need a helping hand.
