Back in the day (I forget when) Peters was ousted from the National party for being a disruptor. His NZF party has, kind of, kept that disruption going within parliament and within a coalition.

Peters is a politician with enormous experience and talent... especially compare with the chumps that keep being promoted to leader of the National party. Unfortunately NZF's voter base are racist-as-shit old people. That base is reflected in NZF policy. While they have a valuable destabilizing effect in parliament and coalition, their policy is appallingly regressive.

I hate to break it to you, but there are way more young NZF supporters than they have any right to have.

Honestly, a lot of the positions he takes are quite reasonable, and he's pushed back on some pretty stupid suggestions from Act during this term.

Shutting down any suggestions of privatising the ferries, for example.

I can see why younger people would support him.

NZF are a party for the average person. They exist to support whatever ideas people want.

This is both good and bad. Good because when there is wide support for a good thing, NZF will jump on the bandwagon to get some votes. It's bad because the average person is an idiot, and people get dumber in groups.
