Is ebay doing badly?
It's got negative growth potential for the most part after it got retail chunks taken out of it by those with actual warehouses and logistics chains. It's fundamentals are solid for a person to person sales platform and for used things and collectibles. But the big revenue was always as an online retailer and it sucks for that. Wall Street hates public companies with okay fundamentals that need to reposition themselves to a smaller market. And this meme suit says he's gonna turn it into an Amazon killer by merging it with his company that similarly has negative growth potential in its previous core market but has found some success in collectibles.
Is GME doing badly?
They've been profitable for a while as I understand it. Kinda surprised tbh given the arse has fallen out of their games market with online stores.
It's been a while since I've been in a GameStop, but the last few times I was, there was far more real estate given to merch than to games.
At least as a game store, yes.
