to the best of my knowledge only one fish passed the mirror test, and even that was questionable.

We have known the mirror test is flawed for a long long time.

African children consistently failed it until older (than white children) because they didn't know what a mirror was or what was appropriate to do in the presence of one.

Basically this point gets brought accross the fact you'd paint the mark red (the color of the parasites) and they'd scratch their throat everytime. While, other colors where outright ignored. This brought accross how the mirror test is more flawed that thought out, so it mainly alined with animals that have the capacity to view as we do. The test has to look from the perspective of the animal, not ours.
