But just because the UI "is ugly" doesn't mean the product does not / should not exist. There are plenty of good reasons to hate on this Googlebook. For one, LLMs and AI-gen images are featured heavily, which nobody really asked for. But "ugly so no exist" isn't a very convincing argument, and design is subjective. I personally think Material You looks fine, but perhaps it does look a bit out of place in a desktop environment though.
