I do like the idea of more competition to reddit here but we'll see how well it does. I know bluesky is considered like fauxfediverse but it's better than nothing as far as mainstream apps go.

The only reason it is currently better is that it is comparatively smaller than the mainstream apps. The more successful and mainstream it becomes the more it with enshittify.

Weirdly, fediverse might be more viable if it's a bunch of corporations fighting for control. They have money for ads, prob wont shut down due to an influx of too many users and lack of moderation. (or they will like digg, but that was more because they got a bunch of liberal tech nerds instead of the maga, aihype, wsb crowd they were pushing for)
