I went to Honeygrow for the first time yesterday. Its like a salad version of Chipotle. When i was picking up my order at the counter someone was clocking in by scanning their face. I asked, "do you need to scan your face to clock in?" And she said yes in and out every day.

Ive never seen this anywhere but I dont have a job that requires clocking in anymore. This is also a place that wants you to make a profile (email and phone number) and sign in when placing your order. I opted for "guest" to avoid that.

What is the purpose of this? When i was a kid you had a manager who would know who was working. Is this like some tech solution to removing a manager, or is this something else.

I have that at the moment, for every room I go into or out of.

Back at home we have a keycard which works much smoother, but sometimes people forget their card and have to log a temporary replacement ... kinda hard to forget your face.

What's surprising is that a) it doesn't work for some people, the system just doesn't like their face. And b) for most people it will work if you wear sunglasses OR a facemask.
