When you define anything that involves trans people and something you don't agree with as transphobic then you're not going to be able to take three steps out of your door in the morning without encountering something transphobic.
Everyone deserves basic human rights and the dignity that comes with them. And someone can feel like they are whatever they think they are, absolutely fine. And others may fundamentally disagree with what you think, which is also completely fine.
The fact of the matter is that the majority of the people in the world, don't give a shit what bathroom someone uses, or what an adult decides to believe or do with their own body. They never did. So by putting such focus on an issue that impacts hardly anyone directly, one which many people fundamentally disagree with, you're just making more division.
everyone in the country had their civil rights suspended, so try and think a bit larger than just one microcosm.
I don't define anything like that. What you criticized was people defending trans rights, which definitely is transphobic. Don't try to sugarcoat and blur what you initially said.
And if no one gives a shit and the rights are deserved, how do you justify being annoyed with it? If I see people fighting for the right to eat cold fries I'd say "sure, go ahead", I wouldn't start opposing them and saying that they're sowing division. The difference of course being that trans rights are a serious matter.
You're just trying to suggest, intentionally or not, that defending trans people is negative for society, and if that is not transphobic I don't know what is.
I never actually criticized people for supporting trans rights. I just pointed out that the topic can be divisive in American culture, and that is someone wanted to sow division, an easy way to do it would be to talk too much about that one very narrow topic, when we should be focusing on broader cooperative efforts at the moment. It doesn't mean trans people deserve any more or less than anyone else.
You do understand though that the subject was brought by fascists trying to push the narrative of trans as a threat, and that all of the posts about trans rights are trying to counter this overflowing narrative, right?
Also I'm sorry but you never need to cooperate with the nazis. If you consider that a minority should be eliminated simply because they are not like you, you do not deserve any form of respect or attention. Or as I've seen before, if you are in a protest and someone is undisturbed waving a nazi flag, you are part of a nazi protest.
You are (intentionally or not, hard to say) pushing the typical stance of the "enlightened centrist" that goes on to say "both sides are wrong so I'm not going to pick sides" which effectively is the same as siding with the fascists. And for the sake of argument, even if people were pushing trans right "too much" (it's not the case), then so what? If it bothers you so much then it's probably because you're against it, I myself am subscribed to a trans community that tends to post a lot of news that I don't necessarily care to read, but I just keep it because I think it is important to know about it and if I don't feel like reading it I just skip it. Why on earth would I see it as divisive, unless I am hurt by the existence of trans people?
All in all, it doesn't feel like you are genuine and if you are, you are definitely misguided (or influenced?), either way your messages only help and support the narrative of fascists who love the idea that fighting for trans rights could be seen as the cause of chaos and division, it's their newest scapegoat after all.
