[2026-07-12] Axios via TASS

The US military is delivering strikes on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz area, Axios journalist Barak Ravid wrote on the X social network, citing a US administration official.

"US military is conducting strikes against Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz area," he wrote on the X social network.

In his words, the strikes are being carried out in response to shots earlier fired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) at a commercial ship in the area.

Let's see where it was specifically.

[2026-07-12] @CPrimestone@twitter.com: The fact that the issue of Iran extracting fees from Hormuz continues to be met with counterproposals that are literally "Okay, what if you did that... but without extracting fees?", plus a dozen other issues, show that a return to war still seems quite likely.

[2026-07-12] @AryJeayBackup@twitter.com: According to CNN, Oman proposed dividing the shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormoz into 2 routes:

• Southern route through Omani waters, with free and unrestricted passage

• Northern route through Iranian waters, which would require prior authorization from Iran, but without fees.

This proposal is still under negotiation, and Iranian and Omani officials have discussed it in Muscat.

[2] Nonetheless, it's hard to deny that they aren't returning to war, despite diplomacy also not working.

Therefore, I can only conclude that Iran is waiting out the clock on Western oil reserves, and hoping that critical shortages brings the US and its satrapies to their senses.

Solid oomphnalysis if you substitute "hard to deny it took them a while to return to war despite diplomacy not working" lol
