Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

It's in the article: Poland, the Philippines, South Korea, India, Japan and Israel.

I see your point but your definition of a country basically nullifies every country in the world if we go far back enough. Israel was just one of the latest ones to commit atrocities to establish their existence. I would love to think that the world has progressed enough that we shouldn't be allowing these atrocities anymore. But the fact that Israel can still commit genocide in broad day light proves that clearly we haven't.

i concur. and that’s really my point, to the other replies: if your “country” required genocide to get where it is or wants to be: it’s not a real country, but instead a profit center for someone else.

then again, this anarchist doesn’t like anything these days anyway. i’m probably just hungry.

Are you going to explain that? Or is there some subtext we are supposed to understand?

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 0 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

what’s there to explain? the zionists who think israel needs to be a thing are actually living in Palestine. simple, really.

Just because the country exists because they are "bad guys" doesn't meant it's not a country. Otherwise most countries that were established by violence wouldn't be a real country. That would mean I don't live in a real country despite the fact I can get a legal passport where I live.

Mate, if you've got something to say, say it. This is a forum where you are allowed to say what your view is with no consequence. Vague-posting summer obscure point isn't helping anyone understand what you're on about.

They have a government, can enforce law, and are recognized by other countries. Aka they're a country.

Can't say what their borders are though
