Many jobs have this weird, culty feeling where we all pretend work is great but you can't say it out loud.
In my last job most of my colleagues were pretty open about how much it sucks to have to work but most of them (developers) earned very well and were saving up to quit.
I wouldn't even live in a filthy city if it wasn't where the work is.
I wish north american cities were decent. I'd love to live in a city long term but the only city I enjoyed living in was utterly unaffordable. One day I will find a city I'm able to live in that isn't infested by cars
