When you signal a number to another person using your hands, do you face your palm or tge back of your hand to the ither person? (sh.itjust.works)

I noticed the difference between my friend and I when I replied to a friend with the number 2, while showing the back of my hand. Being British, he promptly did the same gesture back at me.

I write the number on the inside of my hand, so that’s the side I’ll will show (the other side of the hand wouldn’t make sense, unless I would want to check what I had written).
