Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

That's a temporary problem, while mining produces plenty for very cheap. Once the cheep and easy mines dry up, it'll shift.
75% of the aluminum used in cans is recycled. Aluminum is easy to reuse, so why are we still allowing plastic bottles?
Because oil is still cheap. Cheapish, recent short term price spikes aside.
On top of the relatively easy mining, there's the relatively low volume of batteries to recycle. If you can't keep a plant running all day you have a capital cost you can't reduce as fast. That will also be less of a problem in the future.
