Oh great. Most BMW drivers are already distracted and incompetent enough. This bullshit will just make them an even bigger hazard.

They got rid of the turn signals completely to make this work

Lane departure warning system should make the car unable to change lane without signal. This way and combine with the stupid steer-by-wire system, signal is mandatory.

With tech like that, surely they would also have other ADAS build in to make sure that wouldn't happen.

I'd hope it's tech that works 100% of the time, too (lol).

I had a rental with lane assist once, and that shit nearly killed me when a dude drifted into my lane and my car decided I needed to stay in the same lane and not move over to avoid them. Thankfully cranking the wheel way harder than I should be at highway speeds overrode the lane assist.

I was behind one driving at a snail's pace yesterday. When I overtook him it turned out he was scrolling on his phone.
