Community rules (click to expand)
1. Follow the site-wide rules
- Instance-wide TOS: https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
- Lemmy code of conduct: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/code_of_conduct.html
2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
- Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. This is an LGBTQ+-friendly community -- if that is a problem for you, you should leave.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudoin Windows. - No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
- Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves / tolerates / hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
5. π¬π§ Language/ΡΠ·ΡΠΊ/Sprache
- This is primarily an English-speaking community. π¬π§π¦πΊπΊπΈ
- Comments written in other languages are allowed.
- The substance of a post should be comprehensible for people who only speak English.
- Titles and post bodies written in other languages will be allowed, but only as long as the above rule is observed.
6. (NEW!) Regarding public figures
We all have our opinions, and certain public figures can be divisive. Keep in mind that this is a community for memes and light-hearted fun, not for airing grievances or leveling accusations. - Keep discussions polite and free of disparagement.
- We are never in possession of all of the facts. Defamatory comments will not be tolerated.
- Discussions that get too heated will be locked and offending comments removed. Β
Please report posts and comments that break these rules!
Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't remove France.

You guys have a computer?
You are guys?
I'm a rooster illusion
seductive tortoise is a rooster illusion? π«¦π’π°πβοΈ idk what it means but i'm fascinated
On a scale from two to seven, how seduced are you? And which side is the seduced one?
lol, well i do love the odd scale, but there is a lack of emojis too, so i suppose i'd have to say about 3Ο/2
good question :p
That's a very good rating, and quite irrational!
i can also be quite irrational, in the ocd kinda way
I don't do that on weekends, and I end those days in even step counts.
are those meant to be ocd jokes, cuz I don't understand the first one ><
But it may be I'm a little obsessive during the week while working, and during the weekend I tend to do nothing. My apartment is a mess. Selective? Dunno.
i'm still slightly confused. are you saying you have ocd or that you can relate to it? cuz like, it can be very selective, or like on-and-off when it comes to triggers and releases of the tensions. idk if that's the best way to word it but whatevs.
No, I don't think I have it. But I do like clean code and architecture, and I do want to make sure everyone can read it. And some of my coworkers think I'm obsessed with it.
the thing that characterizes disorders is that they get in the way of life, so technically if your obsessiveness is only productive and not a hindrance then it wouldn't be categorized as a disorder. but i do wonder about that sometimes. cuz like, what if there were someone who very clearly had ocd or adhd but no other peculiarities and somehow was able to manage it even though it was quite obvious? just feels like we should probably have other terms for such things beyond the rigid definitions we currently have...(end of random mini-rant)
I for sure have... something. But it's not ocd. And I struggle with my life, but at least I'm a productive little worker bee π
π
I don't know anymore, the heat cooked my brain thoroughly π«©
don't forget to drink lots of water π° (which i coincidentally have a hard time remembering)
Yes, me too. And then in the evening I start getting headaches and remember I haven't had anything to drink half of the day, start gulping down water like a donkey and have to pee half of the night.
i am sometimes like this too ^^' except i rarely get enough sleep anyway
Yeah, and I hate it. I heard there are people who aren't tired the whole time! Can you imagine?
lol you have no idea
Do you exist?
I think not, Descartes.
So you think, therefore you do not exist?
I was actually tempted to respond to your first comment in this chain about existence/nonexistence, that knowledge doesn't exist, that it can't exist, that we can't presume to know anything, and that we can't presume to know that we think, which therefore would suggest that it's possible we do not exist. But I held back from going off about seemingly nonsensical existential stuff here...until now
