The legislation said penalties would amount to up to 10% of a company's global revenue. Meta, owner of Facebook, had revenue of more than US$200 billion in 2025.

Nice to see the govt taking something seriously. I'd prefer they leave the Internet alone and focus on things that materially, and permanently, fuck up the planet. We have laughably low fines for fishing in an MPA.
