ITT: Corporate shills.
Not really. "A year to get a job" is just not what most of us are observing for devs with 10 years of experience, so it's natural to think something is odd here.
I glanced over a few other blog posts from the blog. The guy is describes himself as a troublemaker and has a whole blog post on how it is hard to be nice to people.
And the guy has a track record of posting highly racist comments to boot.
This is from the last half a dozen blog posts.
Perhaps the guy is going through a mental breakdown. Perhaps not. But I'd be hard pressed to pick this guy over any other candidate.

If you think his writing is any of what you posit, then I’d recommend taking a look in the mirror to search for your humanity.
It does. Most of us don't go around writing essays rationalizing how we treat others like shit, and framing basic decency in daily interactions as "expending of energy", and then make it believe everyone else should just be ok with this.
It's a colossal red flag. Then the racist rants make it all the worst.

Just watched several friends take two+ years to get a job, with FAANG on their resume and over a decade of experience, in the US. You probably have some selection bias.
Possibly. Several people I know were laid off and had a job in a month... I don't know anyone that hunted for more than a few....
Edit: I also don't think FAANG on your resume makes you more hireable than anyone else unless maybe another FAANG? The main thing it shows is you are going to ask for more money.
In the US right now economy, I do agree that it can be a negative signal for employers when quantifying cost but, that outweighs their inherent value of prior vetting done by a major organization. However, if a candidate employee does apply for a role they are more than likely well aware of the possible salary range for the role - pending their states laws around pay range posting requirements. Companies hiring for software developers are mostly already complying with these requirments, as any survey across open roles can tell you.

Were they self selecting by demanding insane salaries in highly competitive locations like silicon valley? Or did they broaden their search and allowed a pay cut or moving?
They were self selecting by not even catching interviews, even after using utilities to reformilate their resumes for ATS.
How many of most of us here are black, then? Dude seems disillusioned with the corpo ballet we're all asked to hop through because that's the status quo. Things don't actually have to be that way, it's not some kind of law of nature.
Suppose if you're happy with the status quo, then I'm glad for you. To me it still reads like corpo shillery. The devil doesn't need an advocate.
I didn't comment on the "corpo ballet", but I can assure you I think it is a stupid and dehumanizing as anyone else. I'll thank you not to put words in my mouth.
took me a year and some months to get an IT job and ive been doing support/engineering for the past 20+ years. the market is absolute fucking garbage now.
