This idea that Germany is once again supporting genocidal fascism because they're just so remorseful and full of misplaced compassion is such obvious whitewashing that doesn't hold up to any scrutiny. Nazi Germany also committed genocide against Russia, killing tens of millions. But are they also blind to current Russian atrocities? Hell no, the exact opposite: they can barely hide their frenzied desire to finish what Hitler started.
