The lengths people will go to avoid dumping consoles is astounding.
Emulation is awesome and why we can avoid consoles while still getting all their "exclusives"
People can play gta v natively on PC, emulation efforts like this are about long term preservation.
Dumping consoles is the entire point of emulators. What do you even mean?
The game exists on PC, there is no need to emulate it.
It's not about getting GTA 5 to run specifically. It just happens to be one of the games that runs awhile before crashing currently and that helps debug and improve the overall emulation of the console. The article gets written because it's GTA and that's topical and gets clicks around the hype of GTA 6.
Not to say certain games won't be targeted, but getting one popular game working means you need the overall emulator to be good enough to do that even with hacky shit they'll regret implementing later (cries in PCSX2, at least it's over now). The other side of the coin is more early attention = more code contributors or patreon memberships.

Getting a ps4 emulator to play bloodborne after my ps4 shit the bed is very much "dumping consoles"
