Maybe they plan to emerge with gold? Honestly stumped about what I'd do in their shoes to try and reassert my place in society. Maybe just start employing people with gold reserves, use that as venture capital to start a new business empire.

So, never take jobs from a mysterious stranger who pays well. Anyone who works for bunker people should be made into outlaws.

I agree that it has little intrinsic value, but unless all of history and culture was erased I think it would still be regarded as a store of value.

I read an article from the Bosnia war, and someone who lived through it said the currencies were, in order of importance: lighters, batteries, ammunition, food.

Right but... Like... Is an entire country going to suddenly enter the mindset of a Bosnian prepper from the 90s? That's definitely a bigger apocalypse than we're talking about
