Oh Bernie Bernie Bernie. AI is 95% vaporware. Stop fretting about the shit they claim they'll produce but never will.
(Obviously changing technology requires some legal changes. Yes yes. But focus on the real shit that's already happened, not the bullshit they are promising.)
I can tell you're not working in IT...
It's astonishing how quickly it changed the field there...
And indeed it's quite a productivity tool since roughly half a year ago, not that it is fun, to use it all the time...
eh, i work in IT. the amount AI contributes is astounding. unfortunately i know one university having their compsci students now doing their projects using AI.

But I guess it's difficult for Universities to adjust, indeed...
And yes, I agree, I write less and less manual code, but it's not fun. Endless context switching is really not promoting flow states, that I had when I programmed for ours... Which I consider what made it fun in the first place.
Me too. But do you think people outside of IT will get the same boost? I think that 90% of IT work would be totally redundant if people knew a little of Python, all we do is guardrails upon guardrails. I have a suspicion that AI constrained enough for your average office worker to understand what its doing is not going to be terribly productive.
