Hey, how about we nationalize the shit out of the economy for a while?
How about we forcefully democratize it instead. Any company above 50 million € worth or deemed system-relevant forced to become a cooperative or similar worker-owned democratic structure. Of course the money from irresponsibly rich investors stay with the workers when it's pulled from the s̶t̶o̶c̶k̶ ̶e̶x̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶ casino, they can get a participation trophy or sth., those who didn't hoard money before eventually being paid out and/or offered to fully join the coop.
Way better I think, and something never truly done before. Nationalizing it would lead to a planned economy… that one loves to fail. Larger cooperatives who aren't being dictated on the other hand are awfully stable, to my knowledge.
Anyway, eat the rich.
That's a great idea. Coop are great as a mode of organizing one company, or every company independently, for that matter. But I feel that we also need to address the broader inter-cooperative market dynamics. The current system is "planned" in a way: actors with extreme wealth can pretty much plan whatever the f they want. State are just actors like any others. Except that they are where democratic political powers rest. And in a sense, and as extremely avert to power concentration as I am, I feel like shifting the planning power of the economical landscape back to actors that are the most equipped to translate democratical political powers, is the way to go here. No market is free unless we make it.
True. There has to be an upper limit of wealth for the individual as well. Nobody, absolutely nobody ever requires more than… idk, 10 mil?
Everything else… well… trickles down (via taxes and welfare and social programs, investment in culture et cetera)
I might be a bit extreme but I just watched Blame it on Fidel! with one of my kids.
Nobody should have to worry about getting anything ever. Everything should be free. The only reason we have to pay for things is because a few hoard most things for surplus value. Sure, we would probably have to share a lot of stuff. But if you really want to have something because you need it, have it.
