The Illinois age verification law, however, applies to Linux distributions and other open-source operating systems.

As a European I didn't know much about Illinois, weird place, ¾th of the whole state live in the metropolitan area around and in Chicago.

Yeah thats how populations work everywhere, majority of people are in the cities. Europe, as well as the entire rest of the planet is like that.
