On top of what others have said, leftists view capitalism as the main driver of climate change. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest oil producers in the world, and their inability to export oil now means that global emissions are stated to decrease this year as gas prices continue to climb. This massive oil shock means that most counties are now looking to decarbonize as fast as possible so that their energy supply can't be cut off by the whims of the market.
