To be clear: this is not a jab at weight, what I'm baffled by is why tf would anyone in a wheelchair use a walking stick like that?

To be clear: I know why the dude has the cane, what im asking about/pointing out is the absurdity of the way he uses the cane in this specific clip, not speculation on the way he uses it in his general life. Just for those in the comments who mistakenly think I’m asking why the dude had the stick in the first place, when I’m asking about the way in which he uses it in this clip. Thank you.

I'm guessing they use the motorized wheelchair for traveling longer distances and the stick for walking into inaccessible areas or when it's more convenient to do something while standing.

As for how they're using it, I'd guess it's just a way to carry it with them in the chair since holding it horizontally on their lap might hit people that don't see it, and it is easier to perform that motion than to hold it steady in some other, more awkward position.

But why not just carry it rather than (I can’t even say ‘walk’) with it?

I just said what I think about that...

No I understand your point, I just find it funny the way he uses it like an actual walking stick (in an electric wheelchair) and when he could just hold it up slightly

You think it's strange that he rests it on the ground occasionally rather than hold it suspended in the air for long periods of time?

Do you even physics, bro?

No, I think it’s funny. There’s a difference

I think holding it stationary like that, and without periodic support from it being on the ground, would become more uncomfortable after awhile.

It could also just be habitual.

Fair point. Maybe they just filmed him at a really inconvenient point possibly? Still funny though

I agree, it does look pretty silly.

Glad I’m not the only one

I think I'm not going to give the guy grief for using his muscles in any way. This may literally be his only exercise

Hmm. Thats… an interesting point…
