It doesn't help that the people currently in charge are fucking stupid, trigger happy, and emotionally insecure.
Right so in the end it never was about the machines. In the end, it was man's folly which would have been our inevitable demise.

I'd say Trump has the maturity of a 15 yr old but I've known more mature 15 yr olds.
By his own words he developed his "personality" around the age of ten and hasn't changed very much since then.
in fact, that is the very reason how things are likely going to end badly.
If actually competent and sane people were in charge, it would be unthinkable that they would trust some stupid llm on anything important.
Competent people would have taken care of this problem. Looks like you can count the competent Americans on one hand.
