Fascinating to see THIS comment (of all the million miracles in tech since then). I've always been weirdly attracted by those tiny lamps. As a kid I had a box with like thousands of LEDs of all kinds. I built even weirder things with them, like glasses hooked into the 6.3mm audio-jack that drove many LEDs around the eyes, in sync to the music. I didn't need drugs as a wee lad ๐Ÿ˜

Never thought they would ever need cooling in the future and can burn your eyes. Obsession with them didn't fade though, all other tech just catched up to them in obsession-land.

I looked at making the leftt-right LED bar, hooked to binaural beats :-)

I mentioned this innovation because of how ever present they are now.

The planetary power-saving by moving from incandescent to LED for most light sources, must be staggering.

That indeed. Back then you had a 300W halogen lamp. Turn on two, and you have a decent gaming-rig running. Now all my smart led-lamps together won't reach 300w ๐Ÿ˜
