!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Idk, I give everyone some grace at first until they come out with the most batshit opinion conceivable. It's not every .ml user, but it's usually an .ml user. And the communities are flooded with the worst .ml users.
Just today, I was banned and had all my comments deleted in a thread. What did I say? A commenter said that victims of Republican domestic policy deserve it because they live in a country that has done bad things to the global south. I pointed out that those domestic victims (e.g. immigrants) aren't the same people who victimized the global south. They said I couldn't fully trip them, and doubled down on the privilege of domestic victims. I said they were a sociopath and that's literally the same argument people make to justify killing Palestinian kids. Banned and deleted.
Again, it's not that every .ml user is an evil red fascist tankie, but a lot of them are and they flock together.
I brought the same energy I was given, which was not civil. The tell is that the uncivil comments of the .ml user were unaffected, and the comments I made which were civil were also removed.
If you're interested, I can try to recall my exact comments. The first was, roughly, "Do you think the children crushed by the domestic machine are responsible for the pain inflicted on the global south?"
Then you should find a different instance. The '"civility" rule, based on personal experience, is just an excuse to take action against people who disagree with the groupthink. I've never seen it used against an uncivil person who toes the ideological line.
Official rules being straightforward doesn't mean the enforcement of those rules is consistent. The real rules are "Agree with the .ml ideology and you can say whatever you want. Disagree, and a justification to ban will be found".
Also I don't think you can really be "banned" from the platform. You can be banned from instances, but there are other instances. If you follow rules, most instances will be fine for you.
