Maybe, but i guess that has also to do with the fact, that a lot of companies don't seem to have any idea what the legitimate use case could be, so they throw it everywhere and see where it sticks. Which kinda reminds me of the company i've worked for several years ago, which was basically just "let's throw GPS data onto a map and see what happens" for 20 years, and was struggling when logistics companies wanted a bit more than just a damn map. They had to rework the entire interface.
Only a matter of time until all the "chatbox with addons" providers go down the drain...
