The solution is Ranked Choice Voting. Anyone can run and voters rank all the candidates. So if you put Stein (for example) first and she doesn't get enough votes, your vote then goes to your second choice, and so on. It lets you vote the way you really want it to go, not just strategically.
K, we don't have that option though.
Ranked choice/instant runoff voting is not doing a lot for Australia. The "left" major party is centrist at best, the "right" major party is drifting further right and the only minor party of note is basically Nazis.
How are the greens nazis?
You seem angry and not great at comprehending the topic at hand. Maybe step away from the internet for a bit.
This lazy dismissal seems to be your standard go to comment every time you can't think of a coherent response. Perhaps it is you that needs to step away from the internet.
Ok, maybe I wasn't clear, so I apologize, I'm talking about the situation as it is, like with this election.
Edit: I think maybe getting people to run who will change things for racked choice voting is a good strategy long term, and we could and should work for that
Ranked choice voting as a topic comes up every 2-4 years. Then no one does anything about it after the election is over.
If you want it so bad, do whatever you can to keep the conversation going between elections.
