Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Yeah good advice, ignore anyone who actually recommends a distro. Only listen to the person whose only advice is what not to do. The only valid distro is the hypothetical perfect Linux distro that exists in your head.
Why/how would I recommend a distro to someone who has used multiple distros, but doesn't even bother saying what they are, what they didn't like about them, or what they are looking for?
Looking for the best distros to start with is like looking for the best youtube tech channels, you do not get a list of the best, you get a list of the biggest, that are recommended because they are the biggest, that just become bigger because of that.
Flavour of the week distros are also a thing, zombies following each other and trashtubers to a distro, and then claiming it is the best ever.
mint is the 1st distro I used, it is terrible, and backwards. I looked at it again a couple of months ago, it still sucks.
debian... seriously?
ubuntu, that has a certain amount of merit, partially as just a reasonable way to test different DE's via kubuntu, xubuntu, lubuntu etc, and partially because a lot of sites online give instructions for ubuntu
You can just recommend something you think is good, but again, there is no such thing in your head. The only good distro to you is the one that doesn't exist.
yeah, I'm posting this from an abacus
again failing to prove me wrong by simply saying what distros you think are good
