Depends how you use them and if they are set up to actually help the person. I've seen a few people on PIPs really improve which was good to see.
They put me on it 3 months into my probation, and then only gave me 5 weeks of review, so it was rough honestly.
But I'm commuting 5 hours a day on public transport for this job, so in a way, I'm also glad it's going to be over soon.
That's incredibly rough. I haven't had anything like that since I was a kid, two buses and a ferry each way in the dark of night (uphill both ways, even! shakes cane). I have no idea how I survived, hope you move on to better things!
PIPs don't even hold a candle to progressive discipline
