Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered

I hate to say this but I am an Instagram user. They asked me to scan my face to "check if I'm a bot", and they banned me even after I scanned my face. And no, I didn't post my dick to a reel. This is bullshit.
Instagram banned me when i started using a VPN and i never looked back, delete your account
However: none of my friends contact me now that i dont use META
Yeah, it's hard to find a friend irl who happen to use pixelfed instead of Instagram
Why would you be so stupid to scan your face?
I am locked out of the interface otherwise. I know it's a stupid thing to use Instagram in the first place
Would you rob a bank too, if they asked you to? Because that's what you'll have done if your biometrical data gets sold into the wrong hands.
