Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.

usually subcultures form around music, games, movies ... sounds like you found yours already? the festivals you go to certainly attract people you can connect with, no?
I actually have never been to a festival even though I really want to!
sorry missread that.
but yeah ... one of the most embarassing thought i ever had was, "i wanna be a goth". at a point at which i was already pretty much integrated in my local community of sorrows. i wanted to match my cool new friends. for the wrong reason.
i am embarassed of this bc at the time i thought it would be important to belong to group and be good at that. i was a little in love with the clichees.
do what you genuinly like and find people who you can share with. that's all there is about subcultures. the rest follows. people who hang out a lot tend to converge in style and habit.
They just want a label they can claim.
They're not asking for a subculture, they're asking for a descriptor to feel unique.
Typical teenager stuff
No I mean like if there’s a name for it or if I’m just a normie lol
The friends I have are a lot different to me and they know what subculture they belong in, so most of their friends are like that too. I’m just curious and wondering what mine is, if any, so I can better find more people like me if that makes sense?
If all of your friends are in completely different groups, you may be one of the rare Chameleons.
As opposed to the people who surround themselves with like minded people, you prefer the novelty of new and different perspectives. Chameleons get along well with many groups because they are great at listening and learning about the subcultures of others. You may not get into the nitty gritty, but you understand what they're about, and can carry on a conversation with them and their "insert subculture" friends.
This reads like one of the results on a personality quiz.
I Chameleon to those sometimes too
i consider myself more of a collector. I find interesting people and pick them to be friends, kind of like how you fall in love with a fancy cheese. if my friends aren't stinky enough, they can't come over or something i can't remember how it works anymore.
I notice autistic traits in most of my favorite conversation partners. I often wonder if others see them in me as well. 🤷🏻♂️
I appreciate their passion and honesty.
