That's an awfully liberal take from Jacobin. I expected better from them.
It is thoughtful and cogent and representative of those who believe in discourse, those who pursue nonviolent outcomes.

Non-violence and violence exist; you can't have one without the other. Remind me the next time you a) want to slap someone and b) decide another method (the non-violent one) would suit better. Non-violence is how good folk function day to day with every frustrating experience, and why life now is much less like that portrayed in westerns, where there just isn't room enough for "both of us" in this town. Individually and collectively people choose non-violence all around you. Have you lost the forest for the trees?
