At what point does one think to themselves that they'll help their son grift the government for $133k and think no one will notice?
Especially when said son is apparently a belligerent dick and will definitely get noticed.
The son does seem to have a lot of political skill and experience, being the leader of an organisation such as Toi Te Tiriti, so it's entirely possible he was legitimately working.
But yeah, not a good look at all.
The article helpfully left that detail out... which kind of makes it smell a bit like a hit-piece.
Iwi are relatively small too, so everyone is somebody's son/aunt/cousin... so finding someone within one's iwi to do a job is always going to be a relative.
