Wondering about this.

There probably is a clausule that says you can’t just quit on your first day or you gotta pay it back but I doubt there is one for incompetence.

But I also expect the recruiters might do background checks to filter out people with brains or ethics.

It's not given all at once you get a lump sum upfront and then a percentage a year after probably for maybe 3-5 years.
