Metta Beshay has a much more nuanced explanation about taking Kratom as it is traditionally used, and the Americanized concentrate bastardisations. Plus his addiction and withdrawal. He also has ADHD:

Edit: I think no drug should be illegal but I do think gas stations or cigar ships, whatever should be forced to educate their customers about any newly introduced drug that wasn't part of the local culture already. That and proper packaging warnings. It's ignorance that gets people into trouble.
