That is one of the problems independent of the type of ideology the government is based on.
Once it gets stable enough, you then see certain groups of people trying to tilt it some way to amass power.
Although I don't see in history, US being not in such a state. There was always someone amassing power.
That's not really how it works. People don't try to go for power for the sake of power, they do so in modes of production where they can leverage the system to gain far more by gaining more power. In socialism this isn't nearly as true, thus we can see that socialist systems don't typically have the same results capitalist systems do.
Yeah, in that case they have to directly go the Govt-al organisations route, which is a bit harder if the constitution is good enough.
