I have two 1440p 27" monitors and I really like the size. They are on monitor arms which do help a lot, since it keeps the monitor floating above the desk so you can have stuff underneat it and easier to keep your desk neat and dust free.
I also pick up a generic used 1440p/120hz 16" monitor for around the cost of a triple a game that I ended up being impressed by. So you could go that route too of having one big 27" monitor and smaller monitor.
2x27" 1440 monitors with zero zoom is bliss. There's literally so much space for activities, things are nice and readable, you still have actual screens if you screen share, etc.
It sounds like we have basically the same setup.
