I'm not gonna be the guy in a horror movie who just assumes the bad guy is dead because he was knocked in the head, looks away and gets megamurdered.

My rule with horror films is the villain isn't dead unless they've been thrown in a wood chipper. Too many can survive losing limbs or being decapitated.
