have you played any nier or drakengard games?
yoko taro LOVES to play with continuity and different perspectives within the same story.
i would not be surprised if this was a hard spin on the original series, like a story that focuses on gendo/fuyutsuki for instance.
This better not be the same fucking story retold again from another angle.
Can't wait for the live action version starring Timothée Chalamet as Shinji, Scarlett Johannson as Misato, and Chris Pratt as Gendo.
Hey, as long as they cast Danny Devito as PenPen, Rei, Asuka, Fuyutski, or Kaji... Really as just about anyone I guess, they have my watch.
Now I want to sit down and figure out the absolute worst casting for a live action version.

I mean if there is someone who loves telling the same story from different angles it‘s Yoko Taro. But I guess we‘ll see.
Considering it has the director of Nier on it, I expect things will get pretty weird by the end at least.
After the rebuild movies I was prepared to be against any more eva, but with yoko taro involved? I can't imagine anyone better
and keiichi okabe on the OST? i didn't think it would be possible to excite me more than yasunori mitsuda doing the dungeon meshi OST, but this is a match made in heaven
