Northwestern Mutual is on my shit list today. I want to get a hold of my actual insurance contract. I want to review the full policy including all provisions and exclusions.

I log into the portal, but they don't provide the document anywhere on the website. I find a person listed as my "financial advisor" and email them. I politely ask who I should email to get a copy of my insurance document, as I want to review it. What follows is three emails where the guy repeatedly tries to get me to agree to a Zoom or phone call so he can make a sales pitch. He eventually provides a phone number, but it just leads to an AI agent that hangs up on me. When I point this out, he says that number is actually closed on the weekend. I ask if he can just email me the policy, but he says email isn't secure. I ask if I can get a copy of the policy sent to the official address on file, or if we can use their secure portal that they use for you to upload HIPPA-protected medical information. Haven't gotten a response yet. They try really, really hard to force you onto the phone. Anything to give another opportunity to make a sales pitch. I'm going to call them on Monday and just firmly and repeatedly ask for the policy document, refusing to give any reason why I want it. I don't want to sit through a sales pitch. They're required by law to provide a copy if asked, but they sure make it a hassle.

Don’t get me started on the motherfuckers at iRobot. I bought their products a few years ago because I didn’t want to buy “Chinese trash” (Roborock) but regret it every time I use the damn things. (Big mistake, I’d happily buy a Roborock today.)

The app, the stupid need for the cloud, the lack of software updates and Amazon buying them out have all led to a matrix of non-stop “what the fuck is it even doing?” experiences. I’m not one to bitch about “I can’t understand their accent” but support is like 1% more intelligent than the stupid-ass LLM that tries to help you at first.

No, your “troubleshooting” document doesn’t have any fucking relevance to my problem, and my “router” (they probably mean WAP) isn’t some NETGEAR shit from Walmart either. I need y’all motherfuckers to understand things like “IPv6,” “native iOS app,” “local connectivity,” etc. not some guy fisting the keyboard at random between wanks on some farm on the other side of the fucking planet getting paid 25¢ an hour to pretend to care.
